; A girl, who said her name was Nellie 1 Hall, applied at the Nort-h London Police Court recently for advice 'with reference to her husband. She said her age was 15 years and nine months, .and that she was married fco a postman six weeks ago rat the Islington Registry Office. The ceremony took place at two p.m. At three the husband went out and did not return until 10.30. They quarrell.l all night and next day applicant waut to Scarborough to see her aunt. The husband MTote n^ringhor to come back,' and sho did _*>, but -uioaii'iiao lie had heard a peculiar story respecting hei". He then refused to have anything to do with her, and since then he had locked her out. — She came to this court,- she said, and got a summons against her husband for desertion. The solicitor who appeared for the husband stated that his client had m I stituted proceedings for divorce and the magistrate (Mr Paul Taylor) made no order. — Since then, continued the applicant, she had returned to her husband's lodgings, but he declined to admit her. She now asked what was she to do, as she had no means of support. — Mr Bros said that directly the husband caused her to be served with a citation m divoice she could apply to the court for alimony.— Applicant :• But I haven't been served. — Mr Bros : then if you have no means you must apply to the relieving officer. — When told that she would haye to go into the workhouse the girl said that she would not go. ______»
