Tuesday, September 8. Mr McKenzie said the Government were m the receipt of a large amount of correspondence on the question as to the minimum size at which flounders might 'be caught, but they had coaie to no •decision as yet. The Post Office Acts Amendment Bill passed its third reading. Mr Rees' amendment proposing to give the Vaile railway system a trial, was rejected. The Public "Works Statement was laid on the table. Tho House went into Committee of Supply on the Estimates. Wednesday, September 9. The Premier said that Government hoped to bring the session to a close by the end of next week. The Water Supply Bill passed its second reading ; also its third. The Stamp Act Amendment Bill passed its second reading, as did alpo the Property Tax Bill, which was also read a third time and passed. After debate the Land for Settlement Bill was read a second time. The House again went into Committee of Supply. Thursday, September 10 The Greymoufch Harbour Bill was passed. The Public Trust Office Acts Amendment Bill waß committed and reported with amendments, as was the Stamp Act. «. T t e H ° Use Wenfc iuto Committee on the Payment of Members Bill.
