The Bißlnp of Christchurch, delivered us lecture on " Father Thameß," a£ Le«B---;on, last night. There was a good atendance, and the lecture was much appreciated. A very successful concert and dance m lid of the Lakeside school fund, waa held m the Bchoolhouee on Friday evening last. At three o'clock he will hold r Confirmation service at Killinchy, and m the evening at half past six, His Lordship will preach at Dunsandel. He will also deliver a leoture there on Monday evening. FrOM Domibmchts we learn that the quantity of wbeat available for consumption m the United Kingdom from Home Produce is I*B4 'bushels per head of the population. This ia the same tv for 1889---90. The largest quantity available from Home Produce m the last forty years was 4-73 bushels m 1854-5. The imports for 1889 90 were 4*ol busheU per hoad. The seventy second anniversary of the birth of the Queen fell this year on Sanday. Monday was observod as the holiday, and on that day all the shops and stores m Leeston and Soutbbridge were closed. Numerous parties were made up, the day being fine, and the beach seemed to be the favourite resort. A number of shooting men made raids upon the duck's and hares, but we have net heard of any very big bags. The attend«nt circumstances are myßterioaß, there being no ostensible cause. Between three and four am, Mrs Levett was awakened by the crackling of ihe fire nad rushing out found the combine m flames, Mr Levett was from home, Mrs Levott and Mr Campbell who happened to be passing succeeded m getting the elevators iaio v place of safely.
