Speaking at Waterford, he said the settlement of Home Rule-was most important to the Liberals. The Times states that Mv O'Brien proposes as a solution of the difference between the two sections of the Irish paity to suspend hostilities pending the general election, both sides to retain the present leaders. The Marqnis of Hartington, speaking at Manchester, contended that Home Rule was practically dead, and hoped both parties would now now arrive at a compromise upon a plan of local government which would free the country from the danger of national disruption.
