Messrs Dalgety & Co. report as follows: OATS — A few samples of small lines of newly threshed oats have been coining to hand recently and these are mostly being taken by shippers at 2s Ud on trucks for A grade and. Is 11 cl tor Bis. Stocks of A grade in local stores are now light and arc mostly held for seed requirements. Millers appear to have ample supplies on hand and are showing very little interest. W HEAT — Milling w heat at present is impossible ot sale to Millers who have sufficient supplies to see them through to next harvest at the present slow rate of consumption of Hour. The market is nominally unchanged at 5s 10d f. o. b. for Tuscan. Fowl wheat is offering Ireely, but there La steady demand Irom sluppcs and apart from pool controlled lines, there is very little good whole quality held in local stores. Current value is 5s 7d per bushel ex store. CHAFF— Consignments have been coming to hand freely from Central Otago with occasional trucks irom Southland. There is a lair demand for prime quality, but buyers ol truck lots are few and Jar between and a fair number of recent consignments have had to be taken into store. Values remain at ep per ton ex truck and i‘s J5 ex store for small lots of prime quality. POTATOES There has been a rather better demand during the last week or two and store stocks are now beginning to get down to more reasonable proportions. The demand, however. is only for picked lines at which sales arc being made at from £5 to £5 10s per ton.
