Messrs Macgregor and Trim, fruit auctioneers, Invercargill advise: The market has been erratic during the week, and prices for all lines have fluctuated considerably and on the whole ruling much lower than previous years, cherries sold at 9d to Is sd; strawberries 9d to Is Id, according to condition; choice dessert strawberries to Is 6d; demand steady, a fair proportion of Iruit arriving on the ripe side, the outlook for ’Xmas trade very promising owing to the fact that cherries are available.
