THE BRITISH TOUR. The*j British team suffered its first defeat on the Kings’s Birthday when Wellington beat them by ! 12 points to 8. The British team scored first, a try that Prentice converted. Porter then potted a goal for the home side, and shortly afterwards, from a penalty two yards outside bis halfway Heazlcwood dropped a wonderful goal. McPherson then scored a fine try near the corner, which Heazalwood converted, and at half time New Zealand led by 12 to 5. In the second spell Prentice kicked a penalty goal for Britain, which was .'the only score. In the closing stages Britain was attacking strongly.
