NASEBY BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The ordinary meeting of the above was held on Monday the 7th of April at 7 30 p.in in the Town Hall, when there were present: His Worship the Mayor Mr J.jjW, Keogh, Crs Horc, Templeton, Bremner, Ball and Strong. The Minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed on the motion of Crs Strong and Horc. The outward correspondence consisted of letters in accordance with the orders issued at the last meeting and the usual office routine. The inward correspondence was as follows.— Department of Internal Allans, wrote re enquiry on behalf of the Town planning Board, to arrive at a decision in regard to the action to bo taken for the definition of the Begional area in accordance with the provisions of the Town planning Amendment Act Received. The Department of Labour wrote asking for returns of Building hermits for the year 31 •3■ 30. The Clerk reported that the returns had been for warded. The Town Clerk Dunedin, wrote re appointment ot group Traffic inspector. Received. Mr Cco. (1. Steward, Rub’ieity Manager, intimated that Nascby has been listed m the Olticial Guide Book, as a Tourist and Health resort.— Clerk to thank the Department. Karly settlers wrore asking for the hire of (he Town Hall at Raster.— Granted on the usual terms Census and Statistic ollice wrote asking for returns of Buildings etc. Returns sent forward. The Land and Income Dept, wrote asking for names of all contractors that have been engaged by the Borough during the year Returns sent forward. The Dangerous Goods Dept:, also wrote asking for returns of all licenses issued during the year.— Forwarded. The Health Dept, repoit was read and received on the motion of Crs 1 lore and Brcnmcr. The inward correspondence was received and the outward approved of. The Finance Conunitee recommended the payment of accounts, amounting to 13 I-1 -3. Cr. lime moved I hat the Clerk find mit if Ihe Andy Brown Dam is vested in the Borough and that the Water Committee lake the opportunity to inspect the Dam and also the races that supply the Borough water icservoir. ) f *.

The Dayman was instructed to turn l lie Bye-wash from Browns Dam down the tail race running past Mir Balls shop and to fill in a few pot-holes in the road leading to the Bridge, Th« Mayor thanked the Councillors for attention and a hearty vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
