POPPY DAY.

The Girl Guides have under taken the sale of Poppies this week. We commend the appeal to our readers, whom we would remind of the • laudable object of Poppy Day. It is to help unemployed and unfit soldiers, and we hope that the residents of Clyde will again show their appreciation and gratitude. The Poppies will be sold in the ordinary way, but straight out subscriptions, and gifts of fruit, produce, etc. will also be very welcome.
