Miss Aileen Paterson, a solieilor, is the lirsi woman in Scotland to bold Mich a position. .Miss Paterson is a graduate of Olasgow I’niversity. and was admitted as a solicitor in P.rjli. She was the only applicant for the position l e l l v acant by her father's death. The town council decided to give .Miss Paterson the position only temporarily, and is to advertise for applications I rom men solicitors. Miss Paterson decided to submit another application, which she hoped would be considered on e<lli;i 1 terms with those of her male rivals.
