Mr Jack Hannay, a popular member of the B. N. Z, staff at Alexandra has received notice of his transfer to Dunedin. His departure means a great loss to athletic circles, particularly football and tennis. Mr Hannay, who has visited Clyde weekly for some consider able time, is just as popular here as ■he is in his home town. Mr Alex. Jenkins, accompanied by his wife and daughter, who has been transferred to Ranfurly State Forest left Tapanui on Monday last. Mr T Mansell, who has been relieving officer at the Tapanui branch of the Bank of New Zealand left for Alexandra last Tuesday. Mrs McEiroy of Earnscleugh, left Clyde on Friday last enroute for Australia where she is visiting relations. We wish her a pleasant trip and safe return. Mr G- T. Stevens of Invercargill paid a visit to Clyde on Wednesday last accompanied by Mr ScandrettMr Powley Postmaster of the Clyde office, returned on Friday, after spending his annual holidays. Dr T. H. A- Valintine, Director General of Health, and Dr. Shore of the Department of Health passed through Clyde yesterday on their way to Pembroke- Visits of inspection will be made of the Cromwell Hospital at 3 p m- to-day, and the Dunstan Hospital at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday. Her many friends will be glad to learn that Mrs Perkins of Omakau, is making good progress. she is still in Hospital at Dunedin bui it is hoped that sue will be able to return to her nome in a few days. The farewell social to the Rev. Jas.and Mrs Robertson takes place in the Jubilee Hall, at Alexandra to-morrow night. Our sympathy is extended to Mr W. A. Harlow, of Clyde, in the sad death of his sister. Crs. S A- Stevens and Chas Weaver, with the County Engineer, (Mr George) visited several counties in North Otago and Canterbury last week The object of the visit was to inspect the road making plants in use, with a view to securing the best make for Vincent. The W. M., officers and some of the brethren of Lodge Dunstan. (a party of 14) had an enjoyable trip to Oamaru on Saturday, when they visited Lodge Oamaru Kilwinning. Mr Jas. Rivers, of Oamaru, motored through to Alexandra yesterday on a visit to his parents, Mr and Mrs Geo. Rivers of Little Valley. *
