The combined team in Dunedin put up a fairly creditable performance, although beaten by 20 to 9. The team was as follows—G. Millar full-back, f A. Nicholson, Leyden, J. Hannay ; five eighths A. Ottrey, L. Niven ; half, Clark ; forwards, NClark, Sutherland, Small, J- Parker (Millers Flat) D- Campbell, J. Donnelly, Bell, A- Marslin. Vincent only had six men in the team. The first spell ended with the score 11-9 in favour of Dunedin. The country team’s score comprised a try by Marslin (which Hannay converted with a beautiful kick) and a potted goal by Leyden. The town team got three tries in the second spell. The country forwards more than held their own in the second spell. lif the ' inter-university match Canterbury beat Otago by 9 to 8 Webb scored two great tiles for the losers, who were not represented by their full strength. At Gore the Eastern Districts of Southland beat North Otago by 11 to 3.
