Pasadena in California, has a Community Chest, which is a novel way of obtaining money. It w one huge fund. People had complained of the fre. miency of collections. Now there is one 1 ouselto-house collection, for the Community fund. The various organisations such as the hospitals, Red Cross and Y.M.C.A., state the sun. required for their funds, and the Community Chest Committee divides its collection between them, each having a proportionate share.
