In Oxford street, London, a. few weeks ago, a motor-ear suddenly tooted forth the strains of a popular song on its horn as it sped along, and attracted much attention. There was nothing to show that it was an advertising stunt, and one can only conclude that the music was provided to satisfy a whim of the owner. The tune that was heard—“lt’s a> Long, Long Trail”—implied that there was a touch of dry humor somewhere. After being in a cataleptic trance for nine years. Annie Swanepoel, of Johannesburg, has awakened in possession of all her faculties. Her voice is weak, but distinct, and when asked, on awakening, what she would like for breakfast, she replied, “Sardines on toast.”
