Mr Geo. Piper, C.R of Court Star of the Dunstan, rcpreeculs the Lodge at tho F oreslers Conference which lakes place at Invercargill on Friday, Mr H. A. Young, S.M. and Warden has been transfered to Hamilton. His successor has not yet been appointed.

Some six thousand returned men are expected lo arrive in the Dominion during the month. Distiict boys included in their number are Trooper Andrew McElroy, Scrgt Jack Weaver (D. C. M.) of Clyde, W. A. Harley Cambrians, F. Backholm (M. M.) Alexandra, A. H. Clark Lowburn Ferry, J. VV Johnston Cromwell, A. A. Sergeant Smith Bannockburn, Sergt. J S, Webb, St Bathans.

Miss Vera Hawley (daughter ot Mr and Mrs T. Hawley, of Earnscleugh) was married to Mr V. Colycr of Clyde, on Wednesday last. This interesting ceremony was performed by the Rev. Rankin in the Presbyterian Church on Wednesday morning last. We wish the young couple every happiness.

A quid wedding was celebrated al S Michals Church, Clyde on Friday morning last, when Miss McElroy (daughter of Mr and Mrs McElroy) was married to Mr J, Walcott. May they be happy and prosperous.

Mr R. Muino, Fields Inspector who has been transferred to Wyndham, was the recipient from Clyde friends of a purse of sovereigns lu making the presentation (at the dance on Saturday night.). Mr Maiden spoke in flattering terms ot Mr Munro s good qualities, and wished him cvcfy happiness in his new sphere ol labour.
