Attempted Assassination.
president Mckinley seriously WOUNDED. HIS ASSAILANT A FOREIGNER. While opening a musical exhibition at Buffalo President McKinley was shot. One bullet lodged in his left breast and another in his abdomen. Later, One bullet has been extracted, and there are hopes of his recovery.
TREMENDOUS COMMOTION.

His assailant on approaching offered to shake hands with him and then fired a revolver which he had concealed beneath his handkerchief. There was a tremendous commotion. Ihe crowd surged forward and wanted to lynch his assai ant. Women and children screamed, and men shouted. The Continental Press is horified. Socialists silent. His assailant is a native of Detroit named Leon Ozolgosz. —o — CONDITION IMPROVING. Latest. President had fairly good night. His condition is encouraging-
