LONDON, August 19. The ‘ Daily News ’ says that resistance in the Orange River Colony is ended. The Boers are inclined, in the last extremity, to become desperate. Kruitzinger’s commando, without horses, recrossed the Orange River. The British columns are pursuing and shelling him. Rimington’s Yeomanry have daily encounters with the enemy. Colonel Gorringe, on the 13th. killed twenty Boers and captured Kruitzinger's secretary, who had a quantity of documents. Five hundred Boers in the Fauresmith district, amongst whom are several women on horseback, are collecting horses. A commando, 150 strong, wrecked a section of the Mafeking Railway. An armored train came into action, and escorted the down mail train back. Commandant Badenhorst’s doctor, while fetching medical necessaries from Kimberley, declined to carry Lord Kitchener’s proclamation, fearing he might be shot. The South African campaigners, including colonials, have established an Imperial Service Club in London.
