MELBOURNE, August 13.

The annual .Freetrade dinner was largely attended by members of .. both Federal Houses. Mr Reid declared that Mr Barton's attiutde over the old age. pensions was a cruel deception of the Australian people. He condemned the method of appointing persons to the Civil Service.
