The Criminal Jurisdiction Bill introduced by Mr C. P Ilbert has now been finally passed by the Council and Gover iorgeneral of India. The measure provides that Europeans in country districts shall be subject to the jurisdiction of native magistrates, but that prisoners shall be entitled to a jury consisting of a majority of Europeans. Hongkong, January 25. News is to hand from Huihow, a coa-tal town on the Loo Choo Peninsula, that the Chinese have assumed an anti-foreign attitude.
