A notice appears in another column under the hand of the Secretary of the Dunstao District Hospital, calling upon all holdeis of subscription lists to hand same, together with the sums collected, to the Treasurer before the d Ist hist. We may explain that under new regulations the Treasurer has now in his quarterly returns to the (dove nmeut of all receipts and expenditure to make a statutory declaration that all sums included in his list of subscriptions have been received by him within the quarter, consequently all sums received after the 31 at inst. will have to be carried into next year’s accounts. The financial position of the Hospital, we regret, to say, is anything but satisfactory, fully LGO being required to square the year s accounts, and thus start, it on its next year’s sea of trouble with a clean sheet. In behalf of the Institution we have uex’er yet appealed in vain for assistance. We hope the present in stance will he no exception, and that one and all, in the fulness of their hearts at this joyous season, will give their mite towards the maintenance of an institution whose doors are ever open to afford relief and assistance at the time of accident or sickness.
