Beneath the rule of men bktirklt just Ih pen is mightier than thiawoßn.

The Cromwell Argus in its last issue, questions the announcement made by us last week, “ that the Government will not issue Crown Grants in a street line in Cromwell proposed to be sold by the Corporation, and quotes in support of its views Section 187 of the Municipal Corporations’ Act, 1876. Our contemporary, however, has omitted to notice Section 8 of the Municipal Corporations’ Act Amendment Act, 1878, which says —“No Council of any borough shall nothave ) ower to reduce or alterthe width of any street in such annulner as that there shall be less than sixtyfeet, available for the ordinary traffic of vehicles and passengers.”
