A REPLY.

(to the editor of the dunstan times.) Sic,—ln your issue of 'the 10th instant appears a letter from Mr Rivers, in Vliich he pours forth a number of his private grievances, and associates my name very conspicuously with them, and takes a great dekl of pains to prove that he is a gentleman ; and, if I Understand his letter, he invites me to enter into a paper war respecting his private affairs, which, if I am right in my conjecture, 1 beg to decline the honor. I make it a rule never to enter into a discussion oh private matters, fnore particularly in the public press, the fading public as a rule not caring for those high-seasoned dishes. As regards stabs in the hack, I fear his creditors will consider themselves the victims.—l am, etc., John Cole Chapple. Alexandra, November 13, 1876.
