(Condensed from the Dally Times.) Napieb, Nov, 29. Mr. Crmoml returned here on Saturday from inspecting the but-posts from Te H Toto to Lake Taupo. He has made a contract with the Paora Hapi natives to form fifty miles of dray road, between Runanga an I Tapuacharum, for £409. Te Knoti’s wherabouts is not known, but he is believed to be near Tahua. ■VVelivUn-otOx, Nov. 30. The Manawatu natives have pulled down the first “ trig” station erected, and have felled trees across the surveyor's lines. Nelson, Nov. 40. There ii little goldfields news. The share market is glutted. Some specimen crushings.are reported, hat worthy of particular notice has resulted. The extension of the tramways • for the conveyance of quartz from the back country is contemplated. Wellington, Dec. 2. " ' The Jtfgatiapa natives, after holding a oneuliaticn, have resolved to. assist the
surveyors in surveying the Manawatau Block. The Ngatiraukr.w.is offered a slight opposition. The survey it now progressing, Legal proceedings arc about to be taken against tho natives who destroyed the first trig station. Napler, Dec. 2. News has been received fVom Tapuacharuru to the 3rd hist. Te Kooti mid Kereopa have left the bush and are advancing into Kakawa’s country. They have been reinforced by tho Driweas and some of the AA'est Tahau natives, and are in force at Te Papa, one il-y’a journey from Tapuaeharuru, whore our forces are concentrated. Colonel M‘Donnell is marching against them.
