Dunstan Times Office, Clyde, 21st August, Half-past 4 p.m. Arrival of the South Australian at the Bluff with the English Mail for June. Latest special telegraph, London, 27th June. The resignation of the Ministry has been accepted by the Queen, and Lord Derby has been summoned to Windsor. A second battle has been fought in Bohemia, the Prussians -were defeated wiih heavy loss, leaving a large number of killed and wounded on the battle-field. A n armistice was refused by the Austrians. Bank discount remains at ten per cent. 29th June. Another Battle was fought in Bohemia ill which the Prussians were victorious. | The R anoverian army have surrendered tothe Prussians. The Italians have abandoned frieir position on the River Po with the intention of concentrating their army. July 2nd The Austrians have been defeated in Bohemia. The Great Pastern has sailed with the Atlantic cable on board. July 3rd. The new Ministry has been formed, Lord Derby, Premier ; Mr Disraeli, Chan, cellor of Exchequer, Lord Stanley Foreign -ecretary; Mr Walpole, Home Secretary ; Lord Carnarvon, Colonial Secretary; Colonel Peel, War Secretary; Sir J. Packington, First Lord of the Admiralty; Lord Cranbuvrne, India; Sir Stafford Northcote, Board of Trade ; Lord Chelmsford, Lord Chancellor; Sir Hugh Cairns, Attorney General; Mr Bovill, Solicitor General; Lord John Manners, Secretary tor Ireland. A Reform Meeting was held in Trafalgar Square.J Consolidated Bank has been re-opened. Bank rata of discount 10 per cent. Bank Directors' policy has been warmly canvassed. Consols, 861. The Oriental Mercantile Bank of Rindostan announces that after December, their Branches will not buy or sell Bills exceeding four months currency. July 4th. It is reported that a great battle has been fought in which the Prussians were victorious. The Austrian army numbering four hundred thousand men were in full retreat. July sth. The Austrians have ceded Venetia to France, and have accepted the mediation of v apoleon, for the purpose of concluding peace. The French Emperor at once sent a communication to Italy una Prussia to treat for an armistice. The Princess Helena was married today. 7th July. Napoleons' proposition to Italy and Prussia for an armistice remains unanswered. The cession of Venetia to France has I caused very great discontent in Italy,

The French fleet has sailed for Venetia. # j 16th July. Received at ,Galle on the 23rd July, noon. The war continues, the Prussian troops are still successful, peace negociations are broken off. Various opinions are expressed with regard to the Bank Directors hot reducing the rate of discount, but a general belief prevails that they have been guided by a sincere desire to uphold thej* substantial interests of the country. Prussia at once eutered Pclileswig-llol-stein, Hanover, Hesse-Cassel, and Austrian Silesia. A great battle has been fought between the Austrians and Italians. The latter were repulsed with heavy loss, but the Italian Volunteers attacked the Austrians successfully. The English Ministry were defeated on their Reform Bill, which is withdrawn till next session. Canada has been invaded by the Fenians, who were repulsed and dispersed. There have been military revolts in Spain. 1000 lives were sacrified. London, June 26th. The Australian April mail reached London June 10th and 16th. The defeat of the Ministry was owing to Lord Dunkellin. who moved that in regard to the Borough franchise, the rating, and not the rental should be the basis of the reform ; the effect of the motion being to circumscribe the extension meditated by the Government. The confl iot was short, but fierce and fatal. The division took place on the 18th June, and resulted in a majority of eleven against the Government. Mr Gladstone then roso, and, with great dignity, announced the intention of the Ministry to resign. He asked for an adjournment for a week, on purpose to communicate with the Queen, who was then at Balmoral. Messengers were immediately dispatched to her at this crisis, and she at once returned to Windsor, but declined, for a time, to accept the resignation of the Ministry, besides expressing he objection to a dissolution. This met public approbation. The result of the panic is still partially felt. Business is checked, and money difficult to obtain. The failure of the Agra and Masterman's Bank was caused principally by the operations of dubious telegrams. The result of the Jamaica Enquiry is the removal of Governor Eyre, and the ap- ■ pointment of Sir John Peter Grant in his place. The public opinion was that Governor Eyre should have been prosecuted for the murder of Gordon. The Bon. Manners-Sutton, Governor of Victoria, is to be created K.C.B. The seamen a.xe < n the strike in England for a large increase of wages. The Volunteer International Match between England and (Scotland was won by . the former. The total liabilities of the Agra and i Masterman's Bank are stated £7,906,892 and the assets, £9,058,497.
