LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN.
[PKR PRESS ASSOOIATIO--.] Christchurch, Last night. ' At a meeting of the council of the League of Wheelmen tonight the secretary was instructed to again write to the Wellington Centre on the question of encouraging cycling and athletics amongst public school boys. The New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association wrote, forwarding the basis of their proposed reciprocity with the league. They had also decided to cooperate with the league in approaching the Government to apply for aid in the holding of championship meetings. The reciprocity agieement provided for each body recognising the suspensions of the other, and also agreeing that no permit should be granted to any e'ub not affiliated to either body, to hold, cash running events on the programme, which also included amateur athletic events, unless under exceptional circumstance*, was agreed to by both bodies. lt also provided for the amateur running members of the league clubs which are not strong enough to form a separate club being accepted as individual members of the association on payment of asmallfee. The agreement was adopted.
