ADELPHI DRAMATIC COMPANY.
" It's Never Too Late To Mend." In the Theatre Royal last night the popular Adelphi Dramatic Company leproduced one of their initial successes, a powerful drama founded on Charles Reade'a famous novel "It's Never Too Late to Mend," and . the manner of its presentation met with the approval its merits deserved. Mr Andrew Hodge as Tom Robinson, the London thief, Mr Crosbie Ward as George Fielding, and Mr Charles Naylor a* Peter Crawley were suitably cast, each making the most of such opportunities as fell to his lot, while Mr George Harpur doubled the totally dissimilar parts of John Meadows and Jacky-Jacby, and in both was highly successful. Miss Doris Ellwood, in the pathetic part of the boy Josephs, acted with considerable feeling, aud Miss Mary Norman impersonated the heroine effectively. The other characters were acceptably represented by Messrs Claude Carroll, David Nelson, John Phillips, W. Kember, N. A. Kingston, John Dayton, John Steele, and Charles Neale. The scenery was good, and the appointments appropriate. The drama will be repeated this
