[per press association.]

Wellington, This day.

The Argen ! ine Republic training ship, Pcesidente Sarmiente, arrived in port during last night, nine days from Auckland.

The lightship at the entrance to the BJuff harbor has been removed for repairs a black bridge placed in its positiou. The repairs will occupy a fortnight. The harbormaster Okarito found the wreckage recently washed ashore to consist of a piece of the side of a vessel 30 by 14. It appeared to belong to a good sized strongly built craft, closely ribbed. The size of the ribs were 9 by 12, and the inside planks 9 by 4, with some iron bolts nearly three feet long. The wreckage did not appear to have been long in the water.
