The Land Question.

[to the editor.]

Fir,—l was pleased to read Dr -Tenner's able letter on the land question. His pregnant remarks, so wittily and forcibly put, represent the mind of the majority of the people of this district. It is time somebody sat upon the forcible-feeble gentleman who calls those who do not agree with him anarchists, assassins, robbers, and such-like pretty names. I hardly know which suits him the better —his " poetry "or his anathemas. The Government are doing the right thing, and if they keep in power another ten years, Hawke's Bay will be a much better place for the working man to live in than it is at present.—l am, &c, Joshua Dixir. Awatoto, July 17th, 1901.
