\SiR,-—ln reply to " Householder," I would like to state. that the reason the school hours were altered was to' enable childtetf living at a distance to be home before okrk. With the school opened at 9 a.m. they\are able to catch the train at 3.23, otherwise they would have a long wait till 20 to "S> ,If " Householder " had my experience of children (coming home late he would not Be? so eager to interfere. Some' children have a mile and a half to walk after leaving fehe train, namely those residing at Tomoanaand Whakatu. About the other subject* I have nothing to do. lam not in the habit of dodging the headmaster's footsteps as "Householder" seems to do. Will "Householder " kindly answer two questions— (1) Is the school tor the children or the teacher ? (2) Why did "Householder "go to the Press instead of to the committee, who I think are the proper persona to deal with these matters.
