CO-OPERATIVE MEAT SUPPLY.
. The attention of our readers is directed to the prospectus of the Napier Co-oper-ative Meat Supply Company (Limited), which appears iv our advertising columns. It will be noticed that a stroDg and representative directorate is assured, for -although the provisional directors do not necessaiily constitute the permanent 'Board if the shareholders should decide upon any changes, such a step as that is •not likely to suggest itself to them, ami we are speaking on good authority when ■we say that the gentlemen whose names appear on the prospectus are willing to •place their services at the disposal of shareholders when the formalities attendant upon the formation of the company are gone through. As in all affa:r> conducted on the joint stock principle success laigely depends upon the directorate, prospective shareholders may be congratulated upon their good fortune in :that respect. As to the company generally, and the dvantages held out by it, thjise in t rested will observe that the statement of : facts set out in the prospectus justifies %kiii an'icipation th-»t shareholders will obtain good interest for their money, ano that when the company is fairly started a-n improved meat supply may be looked for. As, therefore, a considerable number of shares are certain to be taken ujby the general public, a double benefii will be assured to them. The directors consider that at the outside not more than ten shillings per share ■will be called up, and as calls can only be made at intervals of tlueimonths, and no call can exceed two ■.shillings and sixpence per share, th•terms upon which consumers 3-m acquire Kin iiittrest in this latest co-operativ«. scheme i>re very easy. Taking all the circumstances intr> account, as they are set out in tne prospectus, theie seems reason to expect i> thoroughly satisfactory career tor tincompany, and consequently a profitable result to shareholders. II may be well to state that an impref - , 3 jou which has in some way gained ground—that the promoters propose t. purchase the la'ge store near th* railway station—is quite erroneous. The cornpuny will only take over the lease i>, those premises. The brokers, Messrs C B. Hoadley am; Co , will be glad to supply any information required, as well as forms ot application for shares.
