Baden-Powell Pressed,
(Received Aug. 4, 10.15 a.m.)
London, Aug. 3
On Tuesday last, July 31st, Commandant Liebeberg, having with him a large force of Boers, sent a mes "senger with a flag of truce to Colonel Suiith-Domen and his force at Frederickstad, informing him that unless he surrendered within half an hour he would be attacked. Before any possible reply could be sent Liebeberg opened a heavy fire, but his attack was easily repulsed, the British losing only two killed and seven wounded during the fighting which ensued. Seven hundred and fifty additional Boers have surrendered to Sir Archibald Hunter, together with immense supplies of cattle, sheep, and waggons, and sufficient horses to remount all Major-General Hunter's scouts. Major-General lan Hamilton is advancing upon Rustenburg, where Baden-Powell is besieged by the Boers and is hard pressed.
