LATE CABLES.
DE WET INTERCEPTED. His Commando Cut in Two. The Perjured Wolmarans. United Press Association. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received July 23, 8.50 a.m.) London, July 22. Colonel Malcolm F. Little, of the 9th Lancers, intercepted and fought a Boer commando under Commandant De Wet. The action took place near Lindley, and resulted in a victory for the British, the Boer force being driven back and broken into two sections. Peace Commissioner Wolmarans, who was arrested after his return to the Transvaal for violation of his oath of neutrality, has confessed that after tendering submission and taking the oath he served with a commando. A search made at his residence resulted in the discovery of twelve thousand pounds in gold, in addition to concealed arms.
