Adams, of the Eoening Tost staff, and author of the libretto of " Hinemoa," has been appointed literary secretary to the firm of Messrs Williamson and Mnsgrove, and leaves for Sydney in a fortnight. The valuation of the damage caused by the oveiflow sewaga at SSeaers Bing, Harris, and Oo.'s warehouse, is well over £1000, but the Oounoil's valuers put the amount muoh lower.
