Keplying to an enquiry from the Hon. h. Barton as to the alleged negotiations amongst parliamentarians for the formation of a federation of New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland to the exclusion of the smaller colonies, the Hon. Mr Byrnes says the Queensland Government know nothing oE such a movement, and most decidedly decline to entertain any proposal not providing for the equal representation of each colony in the Senate. The delegates to the Federal Convention have issued a manifesto earnestly recommending the Bill to the electors.
