ALLEGED BLACKMAIL.

United Press Association. By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.

(Beoeived Deo. 30, 10 pm )

Sydney, Dec. 30.

The proscribed evidence of the woman who made charges against Mr Carruthers has been published. It charges the latter with ruining her about 1885. Evidence was called to show that the woman was in the habit of frequenting places of evil repute. Mr Carruthers totally denied the charges, but admitted advancing the-woman £10 to enable her to purchase a small business, though the act was purely one of generosity. Since then she had endeavored to blackmail him.
