BUTLER.

[PKB PRBR-j A'JOCIATIOH— COPTCIQHT.] San Francisco, February 12.

The British Consul here, who filed the charge against Butler of murdering Preston, asked for his extradition on that charge, as well as on the charge of murdering Weller. The attorney for the prosecution asked that the charges be heard conjointly, and presented the evidence given" in New South Wales, and certified to by the Sydney Magistrate.

The Court officials retain possession of Butler's effects.
