There is no truth in the telegram from Wellington, that Mr W. Douglas had abandoned his intention of taking Donald McKinnon and Tiritea to Oaulfield. The horsos leave Wellington by the Mararoa ou Wednesday next. 29th inst., and will arrive at Caulfield in timo to fulfil their engagements at the V.A.T.O. meeting. The two horses will bo subsequently taken to Bandwick. Mutiny and Chris will take part in tho N.Z. Grand iVational mooting at Ohristehuroh. Duugan, who won the Grand National Steeplechaso at tbo V.Ii.C. wintor meeting, fell over a hurdle nt tho Mooneo Hunt Club mooting on Saturday aud had to bo destroyed. Tho rider escaped injury. Jockey F. Bay, who was thrown from a racehorse ut .ll'llerslie in Docembor last, has diod at tbe Auokland hospital from fracture of the spine. Au operation waa performed ou him, but ho never recovered the use of his limbs. __________________
