The Lawrence fica, street, las* night had a fatal termination. It was thought that a young man named Webb was at the post-offioa, collecting the mail at the time, but this morning his remains were discovered. He was evidently suffocated whilst trying to esoape. He was a single man, aged 21, and well liked. His parents reside at Wanganui. An inquest will be held. [This apparently refers to a fire particulars of which have not been received.] Later. Ernest Webb, who waa suffocated in the firo last night, tried to get out of the front window upstairs, and apparently, fell under tho iron bed. He waa overcome by tho smoke. The rsmaine were only a little burnt.
