ONE WIN EACH.
The weather on Saturday afternoon waa bad, but two interesting rowing contests attraoted a large number to the inner harbor. The races were between the Union and Napier Clubs' aenior and junior crews, and tbe usual rowing surprise " bobbed up serenely " once a«aia, infuaing a aort of mixed satisfaction amongat the saturated onlookers. The senior rase waa the fifth of the rubber, the honors up till fcaturday beiag equally divided The Napier Juniors had proved thomselves the best lot for three yearp pist, but ou Saturday they went under to the Union " outsiders," who, getting to work with a lorg sweeping stroke, never wasted any chances, and tho übiquitous small boy onco more helped the situation ai he chanted "they dunno where they are." Mr A. Pnlford again proved hia ability as a starter, the boats in both racea being got away an if <-tarted by machinery Mr Kioiy act>-.d as judge, but had no difficulty in either event.
