LAND BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Hawke's Bay Crown Lands Board was held this morning. Present—Messrs T. Humphries (Commissioner), 0. Hall, M H. 8., B. R. Groom, and T. Hyde. OOBBBBPONDBNCB The Oommisßioner pointed out that there was a legal difficulty in the way of Messrs A. end H. Wellwood leasing the homestead section of the Baureka eetate. It was therefore decided to grant a leas* of the property in queation to Mr J. H. Williams, the vandor, who in tarn will be able to transfer to Messrs Wellwood Bros, in months —Mr J. J. Buchanan's application to lease the homestead site of the JSlathorpe eetate was further deferred, pending the prices for the different seotione being fixed—Mr W. Thomson's application to uut the timber from river bed reserve at Ruataniwha was refused. —It was decided to throw open for selection a small piece of land in the Ngaruroro survey distriot, applied for by Mr W. J- Wright, at an upaet rentalof £20 per annum.—Kesolved that the Minister of Jjando be reoommended to vest the islands in the bight between the Ngaruroro and Tuki Tuki rivera in the Olive River Board. —Government to be reoommeded to offer eeotion 13, blook 5, Tautane forest reserve, by puhlio auotion at an upset price of £121, with the right to cut limber for three yearn. —Extension of time to pay rent w&8 granted to Mrs M'Leod (one month), Messrs A. Taylor (six months) and J!i. Joyce (two months).
