YESTERDAY'S WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

The periodical sales of wool skins, hides, and tallow were held in Messrs 0: B. Hoadley and Co.'s rooms yesterday. _ _ Meßßrs Williams and Kettle (limited) offered 48 "bales 14 packages wool, 2000 Bkins, 62 hides, and about If tons tallow. The usual attendance of buyers was present. Bidding may be characterised a3 dull, prices not reaching late rates excepting ..or superior lots. Wool.—This portion of the oatalogue was of a representative kind. Cross red dead, 6d for inferior, 6Jd to <H for medium, up to 7|d for superior; seoond pitcaa up to 4|d, looks from 2£d to 3d, aecond crutohings Shi Skins.—The catalogue consisted largely of medium quality lots. Crossbred inferior 4d to 4|d, medium 5d to 6|d, superior 6jd to 6d, merino inferior 3£d. Hides.—in this department the firm regret to say a number of the hides came forward in bad condition, realising pr.ces lower in consequence. Medium ox, from SAd to 3sd. light 2|d to 3£d; cow, medium up to 3£d, light 3d; calf, superior 4£d. Talicw.—Ohiefly station lots. Farmers' Aseooiation (limited) preaented a good catalogue, consisting of J 2193 sheepskins, 20 bales, 3 fadges, and 10 bags wool, 32 hides, and a few packages fat, to the usual attendance of buyers. Prioes were slightly weaker than Bt last sales, though up to Gd per lb was obtained for a few good lines of half-bred and crossbred skins; merinos brought up to s£d. For half-bred dead wool 8d was paid, and 7-Jd for crossbred ditto, crutchinga fro<n to 4jd, according to condition, and locks 3d per lb. Messrs Wenley and Lanauza offered 21 bales and 2i packages of wool, 1897 sheepskins, and 53 hides to a good attendanos of buyere. The demand for clean bright woo! was good, and for thia class satisfactory prides were obtained. Other descriptions sold at prices on a par with those ruling at ottr last sale. For sheepskins there was less competition, and prices all round show a fall of from Jd to Jd per lb. Thia firm obtained up to 7Jd lor crossbred wool, for dead wool, 6£d for fleece. Sheepskius —Good, well-saved butcher ekins Bold ixiva. 5Jd to 6|d. One lot we disposed of (58 skins) at 6d per lb ; hogs sold up to s|d ; pelts 8d each. Hides Bold fairly well, good ox realising 4d, cow 3Jd, oalf 4^d.

Measrs Dalgety and Oo offered their catalogue to a full attendance of buyers. Biddiug, on the whole, was hardly as free as at the last sale, but the firm managed to dispose of their catalogue at prices equal to thoae of a fortnight ago.
