It is with rogret we have to ohroniole the death of Mr B. O. Hodgson, of the Hastings Post and Telegraph Office. Mr Hodgson joined the Rervice as messenger at Blenheim in 1880, where he was station! d until his health broke down through the heavy work of tho last station. In 1892 ho was transferred to Kaikoura, butowin. to the change not offeotiug any improvement ia his health, he was re- transferred to Hastings iv March last year. His health fur a time waa fairly good, until two months ago, when he fell a victim to that diro disease consumption, with tho abovo result. Mr Hodgson was very highly esteemed by his fellow workers.
