At the S.M. Court John Wixon, a prohibited person, was fined £10 or three months' imprisocmeut for buying a glass of beer. The landlord of the hotel where the beer had been prooured, was charged with selling the same, but the ease was dismissed on the ground of want of identification. Florence Irene Kemplarman, charged with stealing a fur boa valued at £7 from the steamer Takapuna, wa3 remanded to appear at Wellington on Wednesday. At the inqueat on the fire by whioh a store was burned down at Hefton last week, ihe juty returned a verdict that it was wilfully set on firo by Borne person unknown.
