All England had lost oight wickets in their second innings for 234 runs, whun rain put a stop to play, and the match had to be abandoned. Hiirewsbury increased his score to 81, and Gun to 77. Gregory was severely bruised by Mold when batting, and was unable to field. Walter Giflen took his place. Guun played a styliea icninga, but gave several chances, and wad evontually disposed of by a splendid catch. fciirewjbury whs at the wickefcs three and a-httlf hours for iiifl runs.
