Waitangi (Pooie) .. ~ 1 Maori (Baumber) ~ .. 2 Cheshunt (Bishop) ~ .. 3 These were the only starters, and Waitangi led all the way, eventually winning | by twenty lengtha. Time, 3min.l3sec. Eippomenes (C White) .. 1' ' Tempest (Sharp) .. ..2 •Leinster (McKenzie) .. •. 3 Mr Stephenson's pair jumped off with the lead, and racing side by side, had three lengths advantage for the greater part of the journey, but haif-a-miie from home Leinster began to close up, and the three were together at the distance post. The whips were ous on Tempest and Leinster half-way up the straight, and Hippomenes won by a length. Leineter a neck behind Tempest. Time, 2min. 7eeo. Dividends, £2 13s and £1 15s. two-mile tbot.
