FOOTBALL.
Arrangements are concluded for an interprovincial match between Auckland and Wellington, to take place on October 16th, at Epsom, Auckland. The Rugby Union met last nicht, Mr F. Logan occupying the chair. The Railway Department wrote regarding the fares of the Te Aute team when they went south, and it was decided to reply after communication with the coach proprietors. It was agreed to join the Sports Protection Society, with Messrs Logan and Fleming as delegates. A statement of accounts was read by tho treasurer, Mr Whittington, which showed that during the season the Union had wiped £60 off their liabilities. Mr Hoben intimated that he would be leaving Napier shortly, and the meeting gave him a hearty vote of thanks for the services he had rendered. It was decided that caps be purchased for the winners in the tourney events after the Unien Had paid the outstanding acoounts. Mr Logan was aoeorded a vote of thanks for the assistance he had given during the Reason, also Mr Hughes, secretary of the Ball Committee. Some routine business was transacted, and the meeting adj turned.
