A number of vessels lying at the wharf were removed for safety. A stack of 750.000 feet of timber was ignited, but tho Brigade succeeded in saving a large portion. Tho oil burnt through the night, but there was no futther damage. Tho loss is now estimated at £30,000. The buildings and wharves are fully covered by insurance, but it is not known whether the kerosene was insured. CABLE QUESTION.
