The Farmers' Uuiou to-day carried these resolutions: —"That a property tax instead of a land and income tax is desirable ; that some alteration be made iv tho incidence of taxation for charitable aid; that they support no candidates in favor of public borrowing*; that the Legislature should take steps to enforce the destruction of tho Californian thistle." A motion in favor of a tax ou absentees was withdrawn. General discontent was shown with the administration of tho Rabbit Act last session. The legislation was denounced as an insult to tho settlors.
