Cunningham's Hotel, and Windsor and Tayl"r's store adjoining the hotel, were burnt to the ground at an early hour thie morning. Tho origin is unknown. Insurance—Hotel building, £600 in the Phoenix oftioo ; stock, .£450 in the Phoenix. Re-insurances— Standard, £185 14s 3d ; Colonial, £240; North German, £234 3a; South British, £150. Taylor's store—New Zealand office, £405 ; re-insurance, £200 in tho South British office. The hotel insurance is considered excesiivo, and an enquiry is being held.
