Prime choice ohecp aro to be purchased at 2s 7d to 2s 0d per Btone, or say, at. an average price of 4d per lb, good average quality at 3Jd per lb, and common down to 3.J d and 3|d per lb. Iv our last month's issue wo gave tho estimated stocks of frozen mutton in London at 205,000, but on getting returns from the principal utores, found that they had beon considerably over estimated. Stocks to-day, however, still show a largo accumulation, the arrivals since our last report amounting to n<> less than 100,000 carcasses of which, say ifiti.OOO caino from New Zealand. Queensland sheep.—Small arrivals lately to hand aro making about 3id to 3|d in the province*, but in Smithfield market would not bo worth so much. Sydney sheep aro moving slowly at 3h& _ per lb, tho demand being very limited. River Plato sheep aro worth about 3d per lb, but for selected carcasses nn additional id' perlb is being asked. New Zealan : Lamb.—The enquiry for this speciality has practically censed, and 'ttrcssses that havo to bo sold are making from '.ikd to 4|d, according to quality, -f'rozeu Beef.- Tho demand in London is of n most limited description, owing to tho abundance of cheap American chilled, in fact no small is the demand that the meat ie practically unsaleable. In tho provinces a fair quantity is going into consumption, buyers being tempted by tho low prices. Hind* wo quote 3d to i\d ; fores, 2id per lb. The imports show a large increase compared with last year'a figures.
